We have an opening within our Quality team for a Direct Play Test Technician. This position reports to the Director of Quality at our Elkhart South Division located at 1000 South Industrial Parkway.
Primary Responsibilities
Support Facility Management with operational goals and objectives.
Support Facility Quality, Manufacturing and Engineering through technical studies and input as required.
Monitors and communicates FPY (First Pass Yield), Internal Rejections, Scrap and Customer returns.
Complies with all company policies and procedures and with functional and cosmetic company standards.
Maintains and improves upon the QMS – Quality Management System by promoting Quality awareness and enhancements within the company culture
Comply with all safety procedures and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Perform inspections, adjustments and/or audits based on sampling procedures of incoming product, in-process materials and finished goods.
Perform inspections, adjustments and/or audits based on sampling procedures of returned product and/or internal and external concerns.
Qualifications
Certified Conn-Selmer Quality Auditor/Inspector or equivalent experience.
Green Belt Six Sigma preferred.
Associates degree in quality, engineering, musical or equivalent experience.
Proficient in the English language with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to use small hand tools and measuring instruments.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. (e.g.: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
Ability to work independently as a self-starter with an expectation for positive results.
Essential Functions
Assists with receiving inspections on vendor supplied material and maintains and improves upon the Supplier Quality Program including assistance with SCAR’s – Supplier Corrective Action Requests while communicating results to vendor when necessary.
Assists in the development of applicable sampling plans, AQLs (Acceptable Quality Levels) and inspection / audit frequency schedules.
Performs inspections, adjustments and verifications as required for each instrument.
Accepts, rejects or quarantines product per established standards and protocols.
Performs “Clean/Pack” inspections and packaging responsibilities as necessary.
Participate in MRB, Material Review Board, processes as directed.
Leads and/or assists in problem solving methodologies and corrective actions.
Assists with inventory reviews and provides input to product disposition.
Assist in 5S and Lean Manufacturing projects as assigned by the facility quality lead.
Flexibility to work in all areas of the facility as directed.
Other duties as assigned by the facility quality lead.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk and/or stand for majority of shift.
Vision correctable to 20/20.
Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
Ability to perform repetitive work for a prolonged period.
Exposure to manufacturing environment including dust, noise and vibration.
Frequent kneeling, crouching, bending, stooping, reaching and pushing carts.
