We have an opening for an Institutional Sales Engineer in our Division of Education Department. This position will report to the Managing Director, Division of Education. As the Institutional Sales Engineer you will help increase sales through outbound calling to school bid dealers and educators in our network. Create, nurture and close sales opportunities through these efforts. You will be based in our Elkhart, IN facility. The successful candidate must reside within a commutable distance to Elkhart, IN
Responsibilities
Maintain a weekly benchmark of outbound calls to educators within our network highlighting a current promotion, service or support we can offer to engage our client leading to a sale.
Create new sales opportunities through inbound follow-up and outbound calls and contacts.
Gain an understanding of clients’ needs and determine the best path to resolution.
Route sales opportunities to an Educational Support Manager when needed to support follow up and closure of any opportunity.
Achieve monthly and quarterly quotas for contacts and sales.
Some travel to assist ESM’s with key account closings or MEA events.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education preferred.
2-3 Years of inside sales experience preferred.
Strong phone presence and experience making many calls per day.
Shows initiative, self-motivated, strong drive for results, and self-assessment skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be adaptable and able to quickly and effectively develop and balance multiple relationships and follow up with a variety of
people.
Ability to delegate and follow-up to close the loop on opportunities.
Experience working with Salesforce.com or CRM system preferred.
Strong knowledge of Conn-Selmer products and services.
Physical Requirements
Sitting for long periods of time.
Some travel required.
