We have an opening within our Engineering team for a Manufacturing Engineer. This position reports to the Engineering Manager. This position will optimize efforts in safety, quality, and productivity using engineering principles and analytical techniques to advance continuous improvement of manufacturing processes and products. Will be responsible to improve manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment and manufacturing processes for component fabrication, CNC and assembly. Will also manage projects and manufacturing documentation (SOP’s, Work instructions) and drawings. This person will be based at our Eastlake manufacturing facility located in Eastlake, OH. The successful candidate must reside within a commutable distance to Eastlake, OH.

Position Overview

The Quality Specialist plans and directs activities associated with the development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for manufacturing processes, materials, and products. Additionally, this role manages and communicates QMS data required for corporate purposes and plant improvement actions, communicates with customers and customer service as needed in the handling of quality issues and manages the Return Authorization (RA) process and updates the QMS records.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support of daily production meetings, working closely with production team to drive all engineering actions across fabrication, CNC, & assembly to improve manufacturing processes & throughput.
• Analyze root causes, map processes and propose & implement corrective actions.
• Lead variability reduction and lean manufacturing initiatives while sharing best practices across departments or multiple sites.
• Invent new ideas and systems to reduce the cost of manufacturing of musical instruments and components, and assist in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles.
• Assists in the maintenance of engineering databases, item masters, bills of material, and routing files.
• Ability to use Solidworks for design and additive manufacturing.
• Evaluate and solve, or assist with evaluating day-to-day problems involved with Engineering and Total Quality Management.
• Prepare specifications and request of quotations and participate in tooling improvements and layouts
• Technical floor support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• At least three years working experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledgeable PC user with CAD experience.
• Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma experience a plus.
• Familiar with engineering/manufacturing tools and terms.
• People oriented with good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organizational skills.

Essential Functions

• Requires repetitive upper body movement – keyboard and monitor use.
