We have an opening within our Manufacturing Team for a Manufacturing Manager. This position reports to the Plant Manager. You will be responsible for the direction and coordination of all operations, while working with the plant management and/or direct supervision reports to meet production goals consistently with quality. The best candidate will provide leadership and direction to all direct reports responsible for the production operations and strategic initiatives. This person will be based at our Eastlake manufacturing facility located in Eastlake, OH. The successful candidate must reside within a commutable distance to Eastlake, OH.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead direct reports in the attainment of established production standards, goals and objectives, including those associated with yields, productivity, budget and cost control and other key performance indicators.
Direct implementation of strategies to effectively resolve any issues negatively impacting areas within scope of responsibility.
Conduct ongoing review of labor efficiencies, workflow, and productivity to identify and correct issues which are negatively impacting cost, schedule attainment, order fill rate or the ability to meet customer demands. Direct appropriate resolution to assure timely completion of all scheduled initiatives.
Drive efforts to maximize continuous improvement process in all areas of the plant operations with direct reports and as a member of the management team. Actively seek opportunities for innovation and modernization of processes to leverage future growth.
Coordinate plant operation with the sales and marketing activities, research and development efforts, and customer service concerns.
Review activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department progress toward stated goals and objectives
Identify new process opportunities and develop strategies to meet technical requirements of production.
Prioritize production schedules based on inventory needs, new product introduction, equipment efficiency, labor availability and materials supply.
Analyze production and advise management of anticipated output problems such as yield trends, capacity constraints, back order shortages, equipment failures.
Analyze manufacturing costs, reviews/established time standards, and makes recommendations for tooling and processing requirements or improvements.
Other Duties
Actively participate in scheduled safety meetings to review safety and environmental performance.
Lead direct reports in creating and maintaining culture reflective of a commitment to an illness and injury-free workplace.
Develop and report relevant management metrics.
Work with peers, engineers, supervisors on team projects to solve problems and improve processes and procedures that enhance program quality, cost, and scheduling.
Establish performance objectives for direct reports and provide formal and informal support and counsel as needed to improve performance or generate opportunities for further growth and development.
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop.
Qualifications
B.S. in Engineering or Business or equivalent in a technical discipline.
5 - 8 years’ experience in manufacturing related positions, with increasing management responsibilities .
10+ years in manufacturing or related activities, ideally in premium brand environment.
Experience and knowledge applying lean, team-based or participative management techniques within a manufacturing environment.
Required Competencies

Repeated bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting.
Requires long periods of walking, standing on concrete floor surface.
This work requires the following activities: climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors.
