We have an opening within our Quality team for a Quality Technician. This position reports to the Director of Quality and will work at our Elkhart North Facility located at 500 Industrial Parkway.
Primary Responsibilities
Organizes all plant gauging, executes incoming inspection for vendor material, performs internal quality checks, process audits and studies as determined by the quality manager.
Support plant management in operational goals and objectives.
Support engineering through technical studies and input as required.
Monitors and communicates First Pass Yield, Scrap, Customer Compliant returns.
Comply with all policies and procedures.
Comply with all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Work within the team toward common purpose.
Follow direction of supervisors.
Qualifications
Regular attendance.
Must be able to understand written and verbal instruction.
Candidate must have an Associate degree in Engineering or a related technical field or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quality Technician or related field with a demonstrated track record of accomplishments.
Use of optical comparator, profilometer and other measuring instruments required.
Ability to work accurately and quickly.
Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
Proficient verbal and written skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Planning/organizational skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office – especially Excel and PowerPoint.
The ideal candidate must be a self-starter and results driven.
Be able to adjust to changing environments.
ASQ Certified Quality Technician a plus.
Essential Functions
Performs receiving inspections on vendor supplied material.
Communicates results to vendor when necessary.
Works with quality manager to identify gauging requirements for measured characteristics.
Tracks, identifies, organizes and orchestrates calibration of all plant measurement equipment.
Works with quality manager to establish sampling plans, AQL’s and frequency schedule.
Performs process audits and required by quality manager.
Performs first article inspection off of CNC machine as defined.
Organizes all quality paperwork. (inspection records, certificates, calibration records, etc.)
Act as a contributing team member.
Other duties as assigned by the quality engineer or quality manager.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 35 lbs. unassisted.
Requires continual standing and walking on the shop floor.
Ability to bring objects into sharp focus visually.
