On Wednesday, March 31, Conn-Selmer unveiled our Student Leadership Initiative to our community of music educators. Starting in April and extending through the end of October, our team of leadership clinicians will present a 45-minute, content-rich, nuts-and-bolts student leadership session designed to coincide with the events that typically happen at those points in the year. This inaugural HBCU Collective webinar will be a unique roundtable discussion about how HBCU Instrumental music directors and students can position themselves to facilitate growth in the areas of Jazz Studies and Jazz Performance at their historic institutions. Gaining perspectives from Prof. Roxanne Stevenson, Prof. Roberty U. Griffin, and award winning artist Tia Fuller, we will take a look back at how jazz has been implemented in the past, discuss some of the giants that have led HBCU programs, and suggest ways to strengthen the role of jazz in the curriculum at our institutions.

Conn-Selmer Institute Connect - Online Professional Learning Event - June 14-17, 2021

Conn-Selmer Institute Connect 2021 is a fully online 4-day event. This year';s event features a curriculum appropriate for all music educators, with a deeper-dive for band and orchestra educators, music and arts administrators, parent boosters, and student leaders. The event includes relevant, practical, and engaging learning for instrumental music educators to help equip them for the modern music classroom.

In addition to lectures and workshops, the attendees will be provided with a variety of experiences, from yoga to artist interviews, concerts to casual chats, and so much more.
